A RAINY DAY

A wet day, a rainy day what’s the difference. Well the first one all is wet the second one is wet as well but it is also coming out of the sky. And in spite of all the water surrounding you, the landscape is serene. A quiet, beautiful place where nature welcomes you. So go outdoors and enjoy.

A WET DAY

How strange the human sensitivity of temperature reacts. Last week it was minus zero and now + 8 °C. The temperature feels comfortable. How different on a summers day when temperature would drop to a meagre + 8 °C…

For the evergreens it seems to make no difference.

HEN HARRIER

After a day or two with snow, rain made it  disappear. A few spots of white are left. And after a night of frost it is still there this morning.
In the distance a Hen Harrier is hunting. It flies just a meter or so above the ground; mice beware. A beautiful bird of prey on a sunny and cold winters day.

A SUNNY DAY – 9 December 2012

Tonight it was very cold and yesterdays snow crystals were even bigger. Everywhere the sunlight sparkled on the crystal mirrors of ice. A beautiful world, more friendly under en blue sky. A wonderful world of snow.

ANOTHER WHITE DAY – 8 December 2012

Weather warnings were given on radio and television. Snow and wind a combination for high snow expectations. And so it was. Wind blew and snow fell and covered everything. A magical but icy world. Nobody was in the forest and on the heather but is was amazing. Cold, snow pinching your face, but exciting to be there in a world of ice and snow.

FIRST SNOW – 4 December 2012

Today fist snow has fallen and at the same time it is melting. The forest is wet, white and deserted. But in spite of the cold and very wet atmosphere its it makes you smile.
